Description
A quick and easy Mongolian chicken recipe made in the air fryer, featuring tender chicken with a sweet and savory sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into strips
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic.
- Add chicken strips to the sauce and marinate for 10 minutes.
- Place chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 minutes, flipping halfway.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water. Add to the remaining marinade.
- Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Pour in the sauce and cook until thickened.
- Toss cooked chicken in the sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, spray the chicken lightly with oil before air frying.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
- Serve over rice or noodles.
