Description
Crispy chicken parmesan made easily in the air fryer for a healthier twist on the classic dish.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut chicken breasts in half horizontally to make 4 thin cutlets.
- In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each chicken cutlet in beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
- Lightly spray or brush chicken with olive oil.
- Place chicken in air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 8 minutes, flip, then cook another 5 minutes.
- Spread marinara sauce and mozzarella on each piece.
- Cook an additional 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Pound chicken to even thickness for even cooking.
- Check internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Use parchment paper liner for easier cleanup.
