Description
Crispy, high-protein chickpea patties made in an air fryer. Perfect for burgers or as a standalone snack.
Ingredients
- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Mash chickpeas in a bowl until mostly smooth.
- Add breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Form mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
- Brush patties lightly with olive oil.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place patties in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
- Cook for 10 minutes, flip, then cook for another 5 minutes until golden and crispy.
Notes
- For a vegan version, replace the egg with 1 tbsp flaxseed meal mixed with 3 tbsp water.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
