Description

Crispy, high-protein chickpea patties made in an air fryer. Perfect for burgers or as a standalone snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil


Instructions

  1. Mash chickpeas in a bowl until mostly smooth.
  2. Add breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Form mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  4. Brush patties lightly with olive oil.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Place patties in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  7. Cook for 10 minutes, flip, then cook for another 5 minutes until golden and crispy.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, replace the egg with 1 tbsp flaxseed meal mixed with 3 tbsp water.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
