Description
A fresh and simple sandwich featuring heirloom tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, made crispy in the air fryer.
Ingredients
- 2 slices of sourdough bread
- 1 large heirloom tomato, sliced
- 4 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 4-5 fresh basil leaves
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp balsamic glaze
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush one side of each bread slice with olive oil.
- Layer mozzarella, tomato slices, and basil on the unoiled side of one bread slice.
- Drizzle with balsamic glaze and season with salt and pepper.
- Top with the second bread slice, oiled side up.
- Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 5-6 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use ripe heirloom tomatoes for the best flavor.
- Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model.
- Add a drizzle of extra balsamic glaze before serving if desired.
