Description
Crispy, golden churros made in an air fryer without eggs. A healthier twist on the classic Spanish treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Cooking spray
- 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Boil water, sugar, salt, and oil in a saucepan.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour until smooth.
- Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip.
- Pipe 4-inch strips onto parchment paper.
- Preheat air fryer to 350°F (180°C).
- Lightly spray churros with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes until golden.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Coat warm churros in the mixture.
Notes
- Use a damp cloth to shape dough if piping is difficult.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer for 2 minutes to restore crispiness.
