Description

Crispy, golden churros made in an air fryer without eggs. A healthier twist on the classic Spanish treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (for coating)


Instructions

  1. Boil water, sugar, salt, and oil in a saucepan.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until smooth.
  3. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip.
  5. Pipe 4-inch strips onto parchment paper.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 350°F (180°C).
  7. Lightly spray churros with cooking spray.
  8. Air fry for 8-10 minutes until golden.
  9. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  10. Coat warm churros in the mixture.

Notes

  • Use a damp cloth to shape dough if piping is difficult.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer for 2 minutes to restore crispiness.
