Description

Crispy and flavorful tofu nugget sticks made in an air fryer without any oil. Perfect for a healthy snack or meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and drained
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup plant-based milk (optional, for binding)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into stick-shaped pieces.
  3. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Coat each tofu stick in the cornstarch mixture.
  5. Dip the coated tofu sticks in plant-based milk (if using) and then roll them in breadcrumbs.
  6. Place the tofu sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  7. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Press the tofu well to remove excess moisture for crispier results.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
