Description
Crispy and flavorful tofu nugget sticks made in an air fryer without any oil. Perfect for a healthy snack or meal.
Ingredients
- 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and drained
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup plant-based milk (optional, for binding)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the pressed tofu into stick-shaped pieces.
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat each tofu stick in the cornstarch mixture.
- Dip the coated tofu sticks in plant-based milk (if using) and then roll them in breadcrumbs.
- Place the tofu sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Press the tofu well to remove excess moisture for crispier results.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mixture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
