Description
Enjoy a festive twist on classic French onion soup with tender short ribs and cheesy Gruyère toast cooked in an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef short ribs
- 4 large onions, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 slices baguette
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
Instructions
- Season short ribs with salt and pepper.
- Sear ribs in butter and olive oil until browned.
- Remove ribs and sauté onions until caramelized.
- Deglaze with red wine.
- Add beef broth, thyme, and ribs back to the pot.
- Simmer for 2 hours until ribs are tender.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F.
- Top baguette slices with Gruyère cheese.
- Air fry toast until cheese melts.
- Serve soup topped with cheesy toast.
