Description
A festive and easy-to-make casserole combining sausage and polenta, perfect for Christmas breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 (18 oz) tube polenta, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausage until browned, breaking it into small pieces.
- Layer half the polenta rounds in the air fryer basket.
- Spread half the cooked sausage over the polenta.
- Drizzle half the marinara sauce over the sausage.
- Sprinkle half the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use pre-cooked polenta for convenience.
- Adjust spice levels to your preference.
- Serve with a side of crusty bread or a fresh salad.
