Description

Crispy and flavorful falafel made easily in an air fryer. Perfect for a quick, healthy meal or snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas, soaked overnight
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil


Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse soaked chickpeas.
  2. Add chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking soda, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to a food processor.
  3. Pulse until mixture is coarse but holds together.
  4. Form mixture into small patties or balls.
  5. Brush falafel with olive oil.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Place falafel in air fryer basket in a single layer.
  8. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  9. Serve warm with tahini sauce or in pita bread.

Notes

  • Do not use canned chickpeas; they are too soft.
  • For best texture, refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes before shaping.
  • If mixture is too dry, add a little water.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
