Description
Crispy homemade churros made in an air fryer, served with rich chocolate dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (for coating)
- ½ cup dark chocolate (for dipping)
- 2 tbsp heavy cream (for dipping)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat water, sugar, salt, and oil until boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour until smooth.
- Let cool slightly, then mix in egg and vanilla.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip.
- Pipe churros onto parchment paper, then freeze for 15 minutes.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place churros in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, then coat warm churros.
- Melt chocolate with cream for dipping sauce.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use a sturdy piping bag to prevent bursting.
- Freeze churros before cooking to help them hold shape.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer for even cooking.
- Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model.
