Description
A simple and delicious air fryer version of the classic chicken cordon bleu with crispy breading, juicy chicken, ham, and melted cheese.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 4 slices of ham
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
- Place two slices of ham and two slices of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.
- Roll up the chicken tightly and secure with toothpicks.
- In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each chicken roll in beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Brush the air fryer basket with olive oil and place the chicken rolls inside.
- Cook for 15-18 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and cooked through.
- Remove toothpicks before serving.
Notes
- Use toothpicks to secure the rolls tightly to prevent filling from leaking.
- Check internal temperature of chicken—it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- For extra crispiness, spray the breaded chicken lightly with cooking oil.
