Description
Crispy seitan strips made in the air fryer. A vegan alternative to meat with a satisfying texture.
Ingredients
- 1 cup vital wheat gluten
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup vegetable broth
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Add vegetable broth, soy sauce, and olive oil to the dry mix.
- Knead the dough for 5 minutes until elastic.
- Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
- Slice the dough into thin strips.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Use low-sodium broth if preferred.
