Description

Crispy seitan strips made in the air fryer. A vegan alternative to meat with a satisfying texture.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup vital wheat gluten
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil


Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Add vegetable broth, soy sauce, and olive oil to the dry mix.
  3. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until elastic.
  4. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Slice the dough into thin strips.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Place strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  8. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway.
  9. Serve hot.
