Description
Crispy, golden churros made in an air fryer for a healthier twist. Packed with protein and perfect for a guilt-free treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Cooking spray
- 2 tbsp cinnamon sugar (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, heat water, butter, sugar, and salt until boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour and protein powder until smooth.
- Let cool for 5 minutes, then mix in egg and vanilla extract.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip.
- Pipe 4-inch strips onto parchment paper, then spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
- Roll warm churros in cinnamon sugar.
- Serve immediately.
