Description
Make-ahead churro dough for crispy, golden treats using your air fryer.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (for coating)
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Boil water, sugar, salt, and oil in a saucepan.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour until a dough forms.
- Let cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip.
- Pipe 4-inch strips onto parchment paper and freeze for 1 hour.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Spray frozen churros lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
- Roll warm churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Notes
- Dough can be frozen for up to 1 month.
- For crispier churros, extend air frying by 1-2 minutes.
- Use a damp towel to smooth dough if piping is uneven.
