Description
Crispy portobello mushroom fries loaded with toppings, made quickly in the air fryer.
Ingredients
- 2 large portobello mushrooms, sliced into fries
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions
- 2 tbsp sour cream (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
- Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Dip mushroom slices in beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
- Place mushrooms in air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Transfer to a plate, drizzle with melted butter, and top with cheddar cheese.
- Return to air fryer for 1-2 minutes to melt cheese.
- Garnish with green onions and serve with sour cream if desired.
Notes
- Slice mushrooms evenly for uniform cooking.
- Use fresh breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
